Up to 40% of all food that is grown, processed, and transported in the United States is wasted. This waste harms our planet and our economy. But there is good news - we can all make a difference. A staggering 43% of food waste occurs in households. We can reduce food waste by changing our daily habits around food.
Presented by Albany Sustainability Advisory Committee and Zero Waste Capital District, “Food Waste and You” will explore the problem of food waste and how you can contribute to the solution. You will learn concrete steps that you can implement right away to save food, save money, and save the planet.
