Learn how to create imagery and characters to build stories and structures for various types of creative writing. Sign up for All About Writing. In this FREE workshop you'll learn techniques to become a great playwright, journalist, poet, songwriter, or screenwriter. Learn skills to transform what’s in your imagination onto paper. Ongoing through Thursday, September 15th, New Directions For Youth in Northridge welcomes you to participate in writing workshops. You have the option to attend in person on Thursdays from 2-3:30, or remotely through Zoom or Skype. Guest speakers who are professionals in various writing fields will be on hand to mentor and inspire participants. The workshop is free! All materials and supplies are provided at no cost to you. After the final session, each participant will receive a book with their writing included. A final celebration of your accomplishments will be held on September 23rd or 24th (official date will be announced soon). This is sponsored by the LA Department of Cultural Affairs. Note: Thursday in person age group is limited to young adults ages 18-24. Please indicate if 3-4:30 or 3:30-5 are better for you. There is a Tuesday in person kids group for ages 10-17.
