Let's meet and greet! Our first event of The Climate Collective will be a low-key happy hour a pretty chill spot in Echo Park call "The Semi-Tropic". The happy hour pricing is pretty good at this spot but ends at 6:00pm. Let's grab a drink and get to know each other a bit! Looking forward to meeting you there! And bring a friend! ___________________________________________________________________ WHAT IS "THE CLIMATE COLLECTIVE"? We are a brand new meetup.com group that's partnering with leading climate justice organizations across Los Angeles to help make their projects, events, and actions a success! Once a month, we host a community action for members of this group. We tell you the time and place and all you need to do is show up and do some good. It's that easy! Here are some examples of the kind of positive actions that we show up to as a community and where we lend our voices, hands, and resources to make them a success: • MOBILIZE at a rally with the Sunrise Movement about uncapped oil wells in our neighborhoods. • ADVOCATE for free public transportation for students with MOVE LA. • VOLUNTEER at a reforestation volunteer day with TreePeople. • LEARN about residential composting at a workshop with LA Compost. We are your easy outlet for making your mark in the Los Angeles Climate Movement. Take action when it suits you. We'll keep you informed on upcoming actions so you can decide if you can make it or need to skip. No pressure! But more than taking climate action together, we are also a community! We host periodic meetups from hiking, to coffee chats to sustainability tours. We value making connections with each other to build our strength as a group and as empowered people ready to roll up our sleeves to ensure that Los Angeles becomes the renewable, regenerative, and just place we know it can be.
