Backstage-A-Fare is a full-service catering and event production company that specializes in large events, corporate gatherings, weddings, and more. We have over 35 years of experience in the Southern California region and have clients from Los Angeles to San Diego and beyond. We are seeking a part-time office assistant to help keep our operations moving. The Office Assistant is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day business operations are taken care of. They are oftentimes the first point of contact for clients. This person must be enthusiastic and committed to drive company sales by persuading customers to book our services for their event needs. The main duties include scheduling staff, inventory, filing, assisting with invoices and menus, managing customer relationships, identifying networking opportunities, and answering customers' questions. Additional duties include the following: -Answering phones -Tracking inventory of supplies -Demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills -Maintaining company files for vehicles, licenses, vendors, etc -Achieve excellent customer service at all times -Arranging meetings, tastings, walk-throughs with potential and existing clients -Building and maintaining solid working relationships with both new and existing clients -Negotiating pricing with suppliers and vendors -Following up with clients to inquire into whether our services met their expectations -Filling out the necessary paperwork and obtaining clients signatures on contracts -Addressing customer concerns and resolving complaints Job Requirements: -Class C Driver’s License, clean driving record, reliable transportation -Ability to work independently -Sales experience (preferred) -Ability to stand for long periods of time without a break -Good judgment -Excellent problem-solving skills -Must be a versatile individual, good at prioritizing tasks -Exceptional communication skills -Team player Additional Requirements: -High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) -Excel, Word, Canva, Google Drive experience Starting Salary: $15-17/hour plus commissions on any sales Reports to: Owner Schedule is flexible. 5-10 hours per week to start.
