Indoor Farm/Grow Room Assistant

Hello. I am a small business owner seeking somebody to help me with some essential duties. The position is only 5-12 hours a week so perfect for somebody that has other priorities but looking to make some supplemental extra money. I own a superfoods farm that aims to supply the community with hyperlocal nutrient dense foods and educate others via online resources to produce their own. Duties that are required of this position are: -compost, clean, and sanitize growing trays -Weigh out seeds and fill trays with soil for the week. -Watering plants and cleaning grow space. Cleaning and sanitizing the trays is moderately physical and you are required to work outside for this so must be comfortable working in different types of weather. The ideal candidate will be: -an independent worker -precise -efficient -reliable. An interest in growing food and sustainability is a plus. If it seems like you continue to be a good fit and are interested, I would like to train you in planting and growing. There is a possibility for more work to become available as my business grows or if you are just wanting a side hustle, that’s fine too. I ask that you are able to perform this position for at least 6 months. The day/s you work is somewhat flexible for the right candidate. Currently I am growing microgreens but looking to add other crops to the line up once i have more time to do so. Other job activities that might become available if the candidate is interested are: -some social media creation/posting/management -researching/building/maintaining infrastructure to produce other superfoods or better systems for the microgreens -ordering supplies -organizing/streamlining processes -any other strengths or interests the candidate feels they would be able to contribute Starting pay is $15/hour with the possibility of a raise after 6 months. I am definitely looking for an independent worker, I’m not interested in micro-managing but am available for any questions. I will let you know how I’ve been doing things and if you find ways that you find easier that yield the same or better result, I highly encourage you to do that.
