Bishop Blanchet High School is seeking a full-time Custodian to work in our Facilities Department. Bishop Blanchet High School is a 9-12 grade Catholic school located in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate for this position will have the ability to: Communicate effectively with others. Work as a team with other custodians and supervisors. Follow written and verbal instructions. Recognize hazardous situations and conduct work in a safe manner. Maintain security of the facility. Work independently. Adapt to non-routine occurrences/changes. Physical requirements necessary to perform essential position duties: - Stand/walk for prolonged periods of time. - Lift up to 75lbs. - Climb ladders and work at heights. - Use hand tools. - Work outdoors in all types of weather. Essential Functions of Custodial position: Vacuum, dust, mop, and spot mop all assigned classrooms and offices. Disinfect floors, drinking fountains, toilets, and sinks in restrooms/classrooms Empty and clean all waste baskets. Clean chalkboards, whiteboards, trays and erasers as needed. Dust all horizontal surfaces, vents, and univents. Clean walls around doors and light switches as needed. Dust lockers, beams, etc. Secure all windows and doors. Change light bulbs, clocks and batteries as needed. Clean/remove all graffiti as soon as discovered or reported. Set up and take down furniture for events/ annual cleaning. Maintain outdoor school property. Compensation and Benefits: The Custodian position is full-time, Monday-Friday. Approximate hours are 3:00pm - 11:00 pm. The position is benefits eligible.
