The Winding Road was established in 2011, we are a small Fair Trade Wholesale business. We work with Artisans in Developing countries, import their goods to the US and ship to about 1,000 retail stores across the US, Canada and Europe. We are seeking a part time, 20 hour a week Warehouse Associate and all around assistant who will be working directly with the owner. We are located in the Airport Rd Office Park off 31 and I90 (behind the Holiday Inn). The ideal candidate will have some experience packing and shipping orders, receiving incoming goods; maintaining and organizing inventory; and general office experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Pulling and packing out bound orders for UPS, FEDEX and USPS shipments • Managing inventory and keeping inventory rooms organized, moving materials to and from designated storage areas such as racks, shelves, or vehicles • Receiving inventory, ensuring accuracy of material received against packing slips, label/tag materials • Assisting drivers in unloading arriving trucks (this is not a daily or weekly task, we get about 1 shipment in every other month) • Verification of incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure that quantity count is accurate, and any quality control issues are identified • Maintain clean and organized work environment Provide general assistance to owner as needed. Requirements: • One-year warehouse or packing and shipping experience preferred • Good verbal communication skills and positive attitude • Self Starter, team player with good organizational skills and with the ability to thrive in a small start up environment • Basic computer skills including email, data entry using Microsoft Excel and/or Word and ability to easlity learn to use and online shipping program. • Ability to read invoices, labels, codes, weights and measurements • Capable of lifting 50 lb boxes (very few are this heavy but this is needed at times, most boxes are in the 10- 20 lb range) • Ability to stand most the day (this is not a desk job) • Ability to make repetitive movements including but not limited to lifting, bending and/or squatting • Ability to work in a warehouse environment subject to some seasonal changes in temperature • Must live within a 35-mile radius of job location and have working vehicle to make it to work on time.
