VOLUNTEER ELECTRICIAN OR HELPER WANTED

Old couple has ceiling fans w/lights in most all rooms of their house. We live 2 blocks from Ace Hardware. the one in Master Bedroom - one of the pull strings (light) has stopped working. the one in guest bedroom - the actual light switch on the wall has stopped working. so the fan and the light do not work. the one in kitchen - has a pull string (the light) that stopped working. Is there any kind hearted electrician, or technician that could volunteer his time to fix and replace the pull strings and/or light switches? We are not able to get on ladder to even attempt to fix the problems. we will need some references before we invite a stranger to our home.
