Description

Hi, I'm Xena, I’m set to be euthanized August 5th, 5pm. Why am I E-listed? STRESS!! I’m struggling from long periods of confinement and limited opportunities to exercise and play. As a result, I’m barking and leaping in my kennel, licking the walls, and biting at gate. I’m desperate to get OUT! Can you help me? Can you save my life? I'm a sweet 1- yr.-old, female puppy!! I am a gray and black American Pit Bull Terrier. I was a scared stray when the officer came to pick me up, but I wagged my tail when given attention and was lifted into the officer’s truck with no problems. During my intake, I was wiggly but was able to be vaccinated and walked to my kennel without incident. Pretty good for a young dog, wouldn’t you agree? I have been at the shelter for a month and have been taken out of my kennel only 2 times. That’s been hard on me! Volunteers say that I might be initially shy but warm up quickly. I have been described as a curious, gentle, playful pup that will lean for pets and will come up for attention. I enjoy playing with squeaky toys and playing fetch. You can pet me all over, and I don’t mind. I will “sit” for treats and take them gently. I have been easy to leash but pull when being walked…maybe because I’m so eager to finally go somewhere. I need out of this place ASAP! The Shelter says I’m required to be the only dog in the home and that children need to be 5+. It is recommended that I meet the entire family, that my adopter understands what a stressed puppy like me needs, and that I have some in-home training. Will you please come and meet me before it is too late? I don’t want this to be how it ends for me! Love Xena My ID is #A4754584. I’m located at MCACC West Valley Animal Care Center 2500 S. 27th Avenue (27th Avenue, south of Durango) Phoenix, AZ 85009
