“Positive Outlook of Intellects Seeking Excellence, Inc. of South Florida” (POISE) is a comprehensive, non-profit, 501(C) (3) community based organization located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, est. in 2001. Our objectives are to address the needs of the communities of South Florida by offering programs that will afford men, women, and children the opportunities to acquire the educational and vocational skills needed to break the homeless and unemployment cycles. Features of the program include practical nuclear family therapy treatment sessions contracted to provide counseling support for the families of the youth. Efforts are being made to involve the home, school, and to identify a religious body that will provide spiritual support for the entire family. We also offer a unique approach to address several issues including Behavior Management, Domestic Violence, Transitional, Social, and Health Care issues. We truly believe that these viable components are not only enhancing community relations, but affording POISE the opportunity to be thrust into the millennium by raising the bar of community service while setting the precedence not only for social programs, but the entire educational industry.
