Description

The compassion and dedication of nurses in the delivery of safe, effective, and holistic care is met by many challenges in an ever-changing, complex health care environment. Presently, nurses who are both new and experienced are battling feelings of burnout and are experiencing conditions affecting their overall wellbeing. Adverse experiences can affect both recruitment and retention of nurses within the profession. Knowing these circumstances, nurses need to be equipped with effective strategies that will help combat stressors inherent to their practice and that will ultimately improve their well-being and in turn promote patient safety and optimal health care outcomes. Various tactics, such as peer and organizational support, professional education, self-care, and mentoring can assist and nurture nurses throughout their nursing journey and build a path of resilience. Both novice and seasoned nurses will benefit from this refreshing professional development activity. Be good to yourself, collaborate with others- join us, and let’s talk about all things nursing!
