Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin, Friends of the Old State Capitol and The Old State Capitol Foundation have announced plans for the sixth annual Spirits of Louisiana event Oct. 28. Entergy will again be the “top shelf” sponsor for this event which celebrates the spirit of the National Historic Landmark with spirits crafted by Louisiana distilleries. This event draws more than 300 people, and the event is expected to be bigger this year with the addition of several new distilleries participating. Attendees will sip on cocktails made with Louisiana-distilled spirits, nosh on delicious food by Heirloom Cuisine, and dance the night away in this infamous castle. All exhibits will be open and the award-winning 3D movie, Ghost of the Castle will be shown. Each year, funds raised at the event are used for educational programming and traveling exhibits. “The Spirits event is a wonderful opportunity for people to enjoy one of Louisiana’s most beautiful and historic buildings while supporting a good cause,” said Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin. ----------------- ABOUT LOUISIANA’S OLD STATE CAPITOL Louisiana's Old State Capitol educates the public on Louisiana's rich history and the democratic process through exhibits, programming and the arts. The museum is dedicated to inspiring engaged citizenship, advancing the collection and preserving this National Historic Landmark. The museum is located at 100 North Blvd. in Baton Rouge and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.
