This course highlights the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for safely and legally owning, handling, and storing a firearm. This interactive class is about 2 hours in length and is a great introduction to the important aspects safe, legal and ethical firearm possession. Some topics covered are: Safe and legal gun handlingSafe and legal gun storage How to transport firearms safely and legallyHome and away safety practicesTypes of firearms and their parts Overview of pertinent TN firearms statutesMitigating the most common firearm "accidents" We understand that this will be many people’s very first firearms training class, so we go out of our way to make it a positive experience. This class has no range exercises and is conducted with uncompromising safety practices in a classroom setting with no live guns or ammunition. Students who complete the clinic will receive a completion certificate and a letter detailing the class objectives.
