The 13th Annual Bo Ponder's Day will feature Grammy nominated artist Big Mike & the Booty Papas & Atlanta's own The EarKandy Experience. Bo Ponder got his start as lead singer for Johnny Jenkins & The Pinetoppers. Bo replaced Otis Redding as lead who went on to become a Soul Legend and Macon's biggest artist. Bo toured with The Pinetoppers for several years before releasing his first single in 1969, "Dr. Strangelove" on the Capricorn label lead by Alan Walden. Bo has recorded for several labels including Detroit based Crow, Macon based Muscadine led by Paul Hornsby. Bo's most recent work "Midnight Lady" was released on the Down Home Entertainment label. Big Mike & the Booty Papas is led by Michael Anthony Ventimiglia better known as “Big Mike”, a big man with a big voice, a big heart known and loved for his music. For over forty years, he’s been singing and playing everything from blues and R&B to good old classic country.
