Description

We are looking for a reliable employee to oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the company’s facilities, lawn maintenance and vehicles. Staff will work with supervisor to ensure that your colleagues have the best physical resources available to complete their duties according to budget. A great maintenance staff will have a solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems as well as carpentry and other crafts. They will be well-versed in all maintenance process and health and safety regulations. The goal is to ensure the company facilities are well-cared for and adequate to support the company’s business operations. Qualifications: • Successfully pass a State and Federal criminal background check upon hire and a re-check every 2 years. • Possess a valid Oregon driver’s license and pass driving records screening. • Successful completion and submission of all required assurances and tests within the time frames noted in the “Personnel Records” section of the SOH Employee Handbook. • Able to lift up to 70 pounds. • Proven experience in maintenance • Experience in carrying out maintenance operations • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc. • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment • Ability to keep track of and report on activity • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Outstanding organizational abilities • High school diploma or equivalent; • Possess a valid Oregon driver’s license and pass a driving record screening. • Successful completion and submission of all required assurances and tests within the time frames noted in the “Personnel Records” section of the SOH Employee Handbook. Personal Qualities: It is important that our staff to have good Communication skills including; listening, speaking, and writing collaboratively to successfully engage in team building. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and proactive. We want someone who will advocate for our residents. Our goal is to help our residents with their personal growth, their opportunities, and integration into the community, and we also want our staff to help them to achieve their maximum independence. Duties: • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues • Check electrical and all systems of buildings to ensure functionality • As instructed work on repair and installation activities • Maintain and keep all facilities/group home lawn/landscaping in an acceptable status • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary • Monitor expenses and minimize dollars spent for maintenance • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities • Ensure health and safety policies are complied with • Work with supervisor on OSHA compliance and safety. • And all other duties assigned to benefit the wellbeing of Star of Hope
