Even before the COVID-19 crisis, over 37,000 veterans were homeless in the United States, and there is a shortage of service-enriched affordable housing centered on veterans’ needs. Low-Income Housing is a key solution to help address the vast and growing need for affordable homes for our nation’s veterans. Today we have the opportunity to help ensure all our veterans have access to the safe, stable, and affordable housing. Veterans and their families give so much of themselves to our country and, in return, we must make sure they have the resources that they need. We have a shared responsibility to meet the needs of Veterans who are experiencing homelessness. Affordable housing is critical to helping increase access to quality affordable housing, a reality for all Americans, including our Veterans.
