Description

A gathering of like-minded souls who love music, care deeply about supporting environmental causes and enjoy the camaraderie an intimate, family-friendly music and camping festival with great food, craft beer, earth skills training, educational sessions, and authentic arts & crafts vendors provides. HemlockFest, now in its 17th year, is a three-day music, camping, arts & crafts, and environmental action festival held the first weekend in November at Cherokee Farms in LaFayette, Georgia. The event aims to engage the eco-conscious, music-loving community, raising awareness about, and funds supporting research in, the battle to save North Georgia’s and Southern Appalachia’s hemlock trees from the destructive Hemlock Woolly Adelgid. Dedicated to supporting a worthwhile mission first and foremost while maintaining an intimate festival feel with no long lines and no big crowds to navigate, HemlockFest consistently showcases some of the best local and regional music and vending the Southeast has to offer. This do-not-miss North Georgia Mountains music festival experience is known for its incredibly kind vibe just as much as the support it lends to the environmental causes it champions. The musical lineup at HemlockFest is forever eclectic, leaning heavily toward Americana with touches of Blues, Bluegrass, Folk, Rock (nothing too heavy), and Singer-Songwriter. And depending on the year, you might find some Reggae and New Orleans funk mixed in. Our unique artist’s market features original, handcrafted artwork of all kinds, jewelry, clothing, leather goods, stone masons, knifesmiths, and more. We also serve up some of the best food and craft beer the area has to offer. Enjoy the live music, wander the miles of hiking trails on the property or hang out in the diverse camping areas available. You can also enjoy late night campfire jams scattered around the property or let the whippoorwills sing you to sleep. Day passes are available to those who aren’t looking for a camping experience. Kids 15 and under are free! Come feel the vibe, so the Hemlocks may live.
