LOWELL – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Barry Golner have confirmed an investigation into the death of Linda Gilbert, 64 of Lowell that occurred at her Loring Street home.
Yesterday, at approximately 11:19 p.m., Lowell Police responded to the victim's home for a report of an unresponsive female. Upon arrival police located the victim with apparent trauma. She was transported to Lowell General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. During an autopsy performed today, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death to be a homicide. The cause of death was multiple stab wounds.
The Middlesex District Attorney's Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney's Office and Lowell Police are actively investigating the circumstances of this death.
