I'm on the lookout to join a band or find some new musical collaborators. I want to make some adventurous, fun, loud music and play shows. Maybe you feel the same way! I think of myself as a progressive electric guitarist. My playing is broadly influenced by Daniel Rossen/Grizzly Bear, Chris Cohen & John Dieterich/Deerhoof, Jonny Greenwood & Thom Yorke/Radiohead, Oh Sees, St. Vincent, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, that kind of thing. I don't read music but I have a decent harmonic/rhythmic vocabulary and know the names of chords and stuff. Skill-wise I don't literally shred, but in the grand scheme of things I'd say I am "competent" at playing guitar. Mostly looking for similar, but I always want to play with people slightly better than me. I do also write songs and have had some success there. My background: I've been in indie bands and making records since the early 2000s, both as a singer/frontman and a supporting player. Besides guitar I also play bass, keys, and (sort of) drums, and I know how to record and mix music to a degree where I would need a good reason hire someone else. My gear is solid and I have transportation and an OK attitude. I also have a day job and I'm not a drunk or a shitty person. In my opinion the drummer is usually the most important element so I'm keen to find someone on the kit with cooler ideas than I have. Anyway, just throwing this out there.
