We are Southwest Horticulture a full service landscape design, construction and maintenance company with expertise in outdoor living spaces and a deep knowledge of our local flora and horticulture in the high desert. We are hiring a landscape maintenance foreman. Applicants must have extensive experience working with native plants specifically, we are not your average "mow and blow" landscapers and don't want to hire one. Applicants must have an ability to effectively communicate how to take care of a well managed xeriscape and why, along with a solid understanding of how various plants grow and develop over time. Most work is done by hand and with a light touch, so while this is still very hard work in the hot sun and freezing winters, its not meant to be constant back breaking labor and ditch digging. What's much more important is excellent customer service skills, an ability to function with complete autonomy and the management skills required to lead a small crew of one or two additional people. All our guys are great so this shouldn't be the hard part. We are a tight knit, very small, quality focused business and we look out for each other. It could be a great opportunity for the right fit as we are scaling up the maintenance aspect of the business consistently, this means increased responsibility and pay reflecting that responsibility over time. We provide 10 days vacation annually to all employees plus paid holidays and generous end of year bonuses. Need reliable transportation to our yard, but a truck, trailer and all tools will be provided so a clean drivers license is a must.
