Professional Artist located in the Fort Collins area seeking to hire an assistant for immediate employment. The work would initially entail being a helper at a booth at the Farmer’s Market, Downtown Ft. Collins on Saturdays. There will also be opportunities to assist with other projects at my in-home art studio or remote from your workspace. Your assignments will be based on past experience and how quickly you learn. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the ins and outs of being a professional. Or perhaps you have a desire to assist a creative person in their passion? Either way, as an alumni of the CSU art department (concentration in Drawing), I’m invested in supporting local aspiring artists and helping you grow. You will be trained on processes you are unfamiliar with, any prior experience is a plus. Work Requirements: Saturdays: Help set up Booth at the Farmer’s Market, including: -Unloading the van -Setting up canopy (with assistance) -Unfolding and setting up tables, placing tablecloths -Assisting with finer details of preparing the displays Help running the Booth during the Market -Speaking with customers about products and encourage sales -Using Square to record sales and accept cash, credit and online payments -Running the booth alone when I need to use the restroom Help breakdown the Booth after the Market -Packing up everything nicely and securely -Folding up tables and canopy -Packing the van Other Projects: Art Preparation -Varnishing -Spraying -Attaching hanging mechanisms -Placing prints in sleeves -Attaching pins to display cards -Folding, tagging, and packing T-shirts -Constructing art panels and canvas frames Art Production -Assisting with the process of handmade paper -Assisting with the process of making linocut prints (dependent on experience) -Organization -Cataloging materials and stock -Moving materials as needed -Rearranging office, studio, and shed as needed Administrative Tasks -Emailing boutiques with portfolios and proposal -Collecting data on sales -Organizing files Marketing -Social Media ideas, input, and posting -Creative content for marketing and advertising -Collaborating and implement marketing campaigns and initiatives Personal Requirements: -Attentive, focused, detail-oriented, friendly, problem solver, good listener, able to take direction and work individually. -Able to lift 50 pounds Pay: $15 an hour with the opportunity for raises at 3 months, 6 months, and every year. Time Commitment: -7 hours on Saturdays (7am to 2pm) -0-10 hours during the week depending on what is needed, flexible scheduling Please reply with your resume and any questions.
