SSP Industries, LP is looking for a Utility Crew Supervisor for our underground utility division. This position is responsible for supervising the day to day operations, planning, communications, leadership and job completion of assigned projects. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following: ROLE/JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Planning and scheduling of the work for your assigned project. 2. Ordering and organizing materials, subcontractors, equipment and labor. 3. Verifying, marking and maintaining locates. 4. Providing all required job reporting. 5. Completing as-builts and redlines. 6. Actively participating in and taking responsibility for execution of SSP’s safety program. 7. Communicating and coordinating with SSP project management. 8. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS Good experience supervising a utility crew installing and repairing underground water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and natural gas lines and structures. Experience with the construction of small lift stations is a plus. a. Able to read, comprehend and implement plans and specifications. b. Able to calculate, shoot grades, slopes and elevations. Utilize levels and lasers. c. Able to perform density-controlled compaction for subgrades and backfill materials. d. Able to operate equipment utilized for the installation of underground utilities such as excavators, backhoes and wheel loaders. e. Able to train others to install underground utilities. f. Minimum 3 to 5 year’s experience as a utility supervisor is preferred. 2. Exhibit excellent technical knowledge of the installation, maintenance and repair of underground utilities. 3. Willing to promote, execute and adhere to SSP’s safety program. 4. Obtain OSHA 30-hour training certification (unless already holds this certification). 5. Participate as a vital team member to contribute to the success of the company including supporting other supervisors as needed.
