Rock Voices, Americas Community Rock Chorus is hiring for a part time director in greater Buffalo. Rock Voices is an adult, no-audition, community choir that sings only ROCK music. Our Greater Buffalo choir is in need of a new director to take up the mantle, directing a choir of 35+ singers. This is a paid, part time opportunity. Job description below. Interested parties should email with “Buffalo Director” in the subject line JOB DESCRIPTION Non-traditional choral director with “rock” chops. Must be musical, energetic, patient, and charismatic. Will lead a community rock choir rehearsal one night a week, with a concert at the end of a 12-week season. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Music degree (either completed or in progress) in one of the following areas: choral conducting, music education, vocal performance, piano performance - Prior experience teaching private and/or group voice lessons, classes, or ensembles - Must be proficient on piano/keyboard and be able to read a ‘lead sheet’ * If you think you would be a good fit but you don’t satisfy all of the requirements listed, apply anyway and let us decide. Our directors come from a wide range of backgrounds and they all have one thing in common: a love of popular music and a desire to share it with people. As one of our directors, you will be changing peoples’ lives as well as expanding your own appreciation for music and how it brings us all together. PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT 14- week Session (September through December 2022/January 2023 Continued employment dependent upon performance review after the first season.
