IPD Energy Storage Solutions offers a comprehensive portfolio of battery storage design and field support services. We combine battery system expertise with decades of engineering and construction experience to help our clients: Bring new products to market Develop sites and infrastructure Install, (de)commission and service systems in the field. IPD-ESS is growing and looking for someone to join our battery storage services team as an entry-level field technician. This individual will be a key player in our team and assist senior team members with installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of battery storage, inverter, and PV assets throughout New York State. This position will serve clients located primarily in New York, and the Northeastern US. Candidates must be able to travel domestically for temporary assignments as needed. Many locations are in remote areas with limited facilities, cell service and harsh conditions. Ability to work in this type of location/environment will prove useful. Typical services provided by the team: Diagnose and repair faulted inverters, plant controllers and other Energy Storage components Remotely connect to Energy Storage systems to investigate alarms and return systems to operation Monitor performance and efficiency levels and analyze system data to calculate availability Provide accurate and timely service reports following Field Service related work Conduct annual periodic maintenance inspections on Energy Storage systems Inspect, maintain and clean Energy Storage system equipment Keep maintenance records of findings and track systemic issues Assist with developing maintenance programs and developing common procedures Perform start-up and commissioning for new Energy Storage system installations. Inspect physical installation (wiring, connections and mechanical condition) Power up, set all required parameters and ensure proper operation Maintain high customer satisfaction levels by providing excellent customer service. Requirements: Must be customer oriented with professional demeanor. Must be dependable and punctual. Travel up to 75% - frequent travel to and from customer locations – daily / weekly / monthly. Basic knowledge and understanding of power and electrical principals. Experience working with your hands and using common tools. Preferred: Prior field experience in a technical/electrical field, trade, or discipline. 2-year technical degree and/or 2-5 years industry work experience with inverters, energy storage, or PV systems is a plus. Knowledge of power electronics and controls. Knowledge of Modbus serial and Ethernet communications. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
