In search of a personal household assistant to help with various domestic tasks and errands for a small family in Carson City. Wage is $20 per hour. This position is very part time (2 - 4 hours per week) and flexible, ideal for a student who wants a little extra cash. The work would primarily be done in my home, with some driving around in the Carson and occasionally Reno area. The ideal schedule would be Wednesdays between 9am - 1pm or 2pm - 5pm, however hours are flexible and can work around class schedule or other jobs as long as it's sometime between Monday - Thursday, 9am-5pm (so that businesses will be open for running errands). Available hours may vary week to week depending on our household needs. Main Tasks will include: Sorting through clothing and household items to determine items to be donated, sold, or trashed Transporting items to local donation centers, arranging for items to be sold, or trashed/taken to the dump as necessary Assisting with household organizing projects, including sorting through photos and organizing into albums, hanging photos/art on the wall, sorting/organizing kids toys, cleaning out/organizing various cabinets and closets Helping to organize and clean out the garage May be asked to assemble or assist with the assembly of furniture such as shelving for house or garage Clean out/organization of fridge and freezers Perform light household maintenance such as changing light bulbs, changing batteries in smoke detectors Making phone calls to assist with booking services and appointments Running errands around Carson City, including light shopping, returning items to stores, shipping items at the Post Office May be asked to make the occasional trip to Reno for specific shopping needs or errands Ideal candidate would be: Organized and detail oriented Creative and able to create aesthetically pleasing organized spaces Punctual and dependable Able to communicate well, both written and verbal Able to work independently and take initiative Able to respect family privacy and maintain confidentiality of personal information Able to use basic hand held tools to assemble furniture or storage systems Physical requirements include: Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally (for instance, 50 lb bags of dog food) Able to crouch, kneel, stoop, sit, stand, walk, and go up and down stairs frequently Able to climb step ladders up to 6 feet occasionally Must have a valid driver's license and own car which could be used to transport items, such as boxes/bags of clothes for donation. OPTIONAL BONUS: Hourly rate increases to $25 per hour for time spent working on the optional "dirty work" tasks listed below: Assist with garden maintenance, including weeding, pruning, harvesting, watering and general garden cleanup. Cleaning guinea pig cage Cleaning/shoveling out chicken coop (coop with 4 hens) Walking dog (labrador retriever) and/or taking her to the dog park Again, these would be optional tasks for someone able and willing, not a required expectation.
