Older Shorthair Cat

I have an older, black shorthair cat that is free to a good home. Her name is Emmy. She is 19 years old (born April 2003). She is a great cat but I no longer have the time or patience. She does a hyperthyroid condition. She can live without the medicine but fares worse mostly. The medicine costs about $80 for every 2 months. The reason for wanting to get rid of her is that she infrequently potties in my house.. about once a month. It is my unscientific theory that it is tied to her hyperthyroid condition. This causes her to be really thirsty, consume a lot of water quickly and then consequently have to pee. She is litter box trained but apparently it is too urgent for her to go to the garage.
