On August 13 at the Caspar Community Center in Caspar, CA there will be “A Day for Remembering Cat Mother” from 11am to 6pm.
The event is a tribute to the band Cat Mother and the All Night Newsboys, who were the soundtrack to many events on the Mendocino Coast in the early 1970s.
Performing Cat Mother songs, along with their own music will be The Mighty T-Bones, Richard Fienbop and Jain, reuniting for the day with originals Rain Equine and Claudia Paige.
In between sets there will be a panel discussion with some of the players and guests on the topic of “Growing Up With Musicians in the 70s.” Lee Larsen, who ran Toad Hall in the 70s, and Kathy O’Grady, longtime cast member of The Hit and Run Comedy Troupe will co-host.
No alcohol will be served. We hope to have a food truck on the premises. The event is free with donations gladly accepted.
