Columbus, Ohio native B. Arlene is no stranger to the stage. She has been a featured performer at several galas and countless open-mics across the country. Now she is back to present Vibes Open Mic. Every third Wednesday, Hyer Hookah Lounge transforms from it's usual nightclub atmosphere into an intimate space of poetry. Each show highlights a featured artist while welcoming performers of all levels from enthusiasts to professional.
This months feature is Leroy Bean. Leroy Bean is a Dayton native with several years of poetry experience. His background started with spoken word performances and grew to include live entertainment production, creative writing workshops, publications in 6 different literary magazines, and self-publication of his poetry book “The Love and Theory of Womanology.” In addition to being an individual artist, Leroy has spent a great deal of his time and energy doing community work in Dayton through the poetry collective Underdog Academy and production company Broken English: 101.”
