Looking for experienced ranch hand for local cattle ranch Feed and count cattle first thing of morning: --Record actual amount feed to all groups of grain, hay and mineral --Proper feed bunk management Tag new calves everyday during calving season Keep an eye on all cattle: Look for problems and report them Up keep all fences and gates Rotational grazing system understanding Ability to work large groups of cattle --Sort --Vaccinate --Keep records of weights, date and location Do the regular maintenance on equipment: --Grease regularly as needed --Check all fluid levels regularly and top off as needed --Check all tires --Communicate all problems as they occur to the proper management imediately Hay Season --Operate equipment in a manner that reduces breakdowns and repairs --Fix all equipment as it breaks down and relay all problems to proper management --Daily maintenance on all equipment (greasing looking for potential problems and fixing) --Strong mechanical skills a plus Welding and torch experience Pride in work you do Be on time and work efficiently by yourself or with others Organizational skills Follow verbal or written instructions (communication with management essential) No drug or alcohol use permitted (you are working with dangerous equipment and others) Have to be able to lift 50+ lbs. Work in all types of weather conditions (hot, cold, dirt, wind and sun) Yard mowing and weed eating is expected occasionally Chainsaw operating required Good driving record Pick up after yourself and return tools and other stuff used back to its original place so everyone can find Direct to Consumer Beef Sales Will be expected to help with beef box business as needed Fill orders and hand out orders to customers
