Access Framingham Makes Mask Donation To City Library

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The city's public access TV station recently made a big mask donation to the Framingham Public Library, which has served as a clearinghouse for free masks during the coronavirus pandemic. Access Framingham gifted about 160 reusable cotton masks to the library, according to station Executive Director Scott Mercer. Since the spring, the library has been collecting donated masks for distribution within the community. "The library is such an important part of the community," Mercer said in a statement. "We wanted to support the library and the community in a way that would keep people safe and healthy during the pandemic. When a board member learned the library was providing free masks to those in need of masks and their supplies were low, the perfect way to support their efforts was with additional masks." Framingham Public Library Director Lena Kilburn said the masks are in demand with coronavirus cases still high locally. Framingham had set a goal of collecting 15,000 masks, and at last check had received just over 10,000. If you need a mask, fill out the library's request form here.
