Vulnerable children and families are everywhere in our community. But where do you begin to help? The Forgotten Initiative is a ministry designed to support, and equip individuals and churches in serving the foster care community. From prevention to permanency, we believe everyone can do something in the lives of those right here in our community that are facing extremely difficult circumstances. Every child deserves to have a warm bed, basic needs met, and a safe loving family.
You'll hear from Camp Rock (local licensed foster care agency), The Department of Family and Children Services, Lacey Bartlett ( a local experienced foster parent), It's My Turn Now (children waiting adoption), and a Superior Court Staff Attorney (to share the adoption process through the court).
With the recent Roe Vs. Wade overturn, we need to be prepared now more than ever. We are praying for and believing in a movement of support in Thomas County for the foster care and adoption community. One individual, family, or church can’t take on the brokenness of the world and the foster care crisis alone, but together we can all do something, and be a piece of the puzzle to provide the support that is desperately needed.
