Riders Flee Stuck Worcester-Bound Commuter Train By Hopping Fence

WORCESTER, MA — It wasn't as dramatic as jumping off a Charles River bridge to flee a burning Orange Line train, but some riders on a Worcester-bound MBTA commuter rail train fled Monday evening by opening a door and hopping a fence. A 5:35 p.m. train bound for Worcester experienced an electrical problem shortly after the leaving the station and got stuck, according to reports. After about an hour stuck in a hot train near the Boston Landing station, some riders decided to pry open the doors and get off. Rider Leo Ruiz shared a video on Twitter of riders using a ladder — supplied by people living near the tracks — to hop a fence to get off the train.
