Trio ready to add a bassist and continue on as a quartet. We are seeking a mature bassist (can be either electric, double bass or both) to free our keyboardist's left hand. Vocals (lead or harmony) a major plus. Instead of trying to describe the genres and eras of music we play, go to http://rationalcats.volusiagig.com and see (and hear) for yourself. We perform at small venues at lower volumes. In addition to reasonably solid musicianship we are seeking a bassist who is dependable, has their own transportation, and understands the importance of showing up for gigs sober and punctual enough to show up in time to do a thorough soundcheck before our start times. Age, gender, inclination, etc. are not important; however, the ability to get along and work as a team is of the utmost importance. We are based in west Volusia and rehearse twice a week in Lake Helen. Most of our rehearsals are in the early afternoon, and always during the work week. We have some flexibility. As you can see from the link provided above we are in our later years, but as also stated, age does not matter (nor looks). We would appreciate samples of your playing if you have them.
