Description
We're looking for a lead guitarist for an ORIGINAL (maybe weird) band. It'd be nice if you are also a multi-instrumentalist who can play horns, strings, and/or keyboards.
One who can harmonize with at least one of us is a MAJOR plus.
Extra plus: someone who can play Armenian Duduk--no joke! While that sounds odd, it should give an idea of
what we're trying to do: create a unique sounding band using unusual instruments and arrangements. But would
still have "pop" listenability/accessibility. Think Damon Albarn's solo stuff but heavier.
Influences:
Stone Roses/Charlatans/Happy Mondays/Inspiral Carpets
Echo and the Bunnymen
The Tragically Hip
Blur/Gorillaz
Brian Eno (esp. on the James albums)
The Church/Jack Frost
Uncle Tupelo/Wilco
Queen
Most "classic rock" (We prefer Kinks and Who over Beatles and Stones. Yeah, we know, sacrilege!)
Concrete Blonde
XTC
Hum
Poster Children
Cracker
Kyuss
Tool
My Bloody Valentine
Love Spit Love
Velvet Underground
The Ojays
Hypnagogic/Hauntology
80s SoCal punk
Outlaw country (Highwaymen, Hank Sr, et al)
80s "Synth Britannia" bands (DM, Cabaret Voltaire, Ultravox, Yaz, et al)
and
Spinal Tap, Digital Underground, Chap-Hop (for humor, lest anyone gets too precious!)
Disparate styles, yes, but they usually combine to form really cool,
unique sounds and songs....
Looking for a lead guitarist, M or F, in their late 20s-40s. Pro experience a plus, but
mostly looking for fun, easy-going personalities.
If you do drugs, please have them under control.
Emails only, please.
