Job Description: Maintenance & Janitorial Specialist – Poverello Center Job Type: Part Time, 25-30 hours/week (will consider Full Time for the right person) Summary: Complete all daily cleaning and maintenance tasks associated with keeping the Poverello Center clean, sanitized and safe for individuals experiencing food an/or housing insecurity. Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Complete building sanitization, according to the cleaning schedule. 2. Troubleshoot problem areas and create a clear plan of action for fixing necessary parts. 3.Create a work environment with safety as a priority. 4.Cooperates with law enforcement if required. 5. Performs basic building maintenance under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. 6. Reports safety issues to staff on duty. 7. Checks completion of resident chores, if chores are not completed to the satisfaction of the Janitorial Specialist this is reported to direct care staff for follow up. 8. QUALIFICATIONS · Valid Montana driver’s license and acceptable driving record. · Successful completion of a thorough background investigation. Education and/or Experience A willingness to learn PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposure to unpleasant sights, sounds and odors is frequently encountered.
