Description

We are seeking healthy individuals who are between the ages of 60 and 80 years to participate in a research study at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The study involves wearing an elastic belt with 32 electrodes around the chest to take images during a breathing test using a method called Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT). This is a new, noninvasive technology that uses multiple pairs of electrodes to inject small imperceptible currents. Electrical measurements are recorded from all electrodes and input into a computer algorithm to generate an image of your chest. We hope to demonstrate whether or not EIT is an effective imaging method for measuring certain parameters of lung function. Total study time should be 30-40 minutes, compensation for your time will be provided If interested, please contact Hilda Gutierrez
