Description

Hey multi-instrumentalists and drummers, I'm looking for another multi-instrumentalist / drummer to collaborate on an unconventional-format post-punk / post-rock trio project for fun and recording. If we have enough of a catalog of songs, I'd like to play locally. As for myself, I am a 44 year old who's has been playing bass guitar since I was 12 (mainly fingerstyle and slap pop) and drums off & on since 16. Most recently, I have invested in a drum kit and am looking to work on this role primarily with bass & all instrumentation secondarily. I am technically proficient but I prefer to shoot for melodic syncopation instead of virtuosity. I strive for heavy contrast with clean cathedral lush washes against fuzzed out dissonant passages with both traditional rock instrumentation and modified folk instrumentation in unconventional formats. Think alternately-tuned basses, ukuleles, organ synth, melodicas, musical saw, paraphonic synth, soft synths, and granular sampler synth using field-recorded sounds. Since 2015, I have been heavily into my solo looping project and have been wanting to bring on more like-minded instrumentalists to push beyond the envelope of mediocrity and tradition. I'm just hoping to find more forward-thinking multi-instrumentalists who care more about their craft than alcohol & drug use. If any of this resonates with you, feel free to reach out as I would love to hear what you've been working on
