Description

Do you have an interest in working in a commercial kitchen but lack the basic training to even get your foot in the back door? You may be interested in a new, free-of-charge pilot program that teaches all of the basic skills needed to launch a career in the culinary industry - including knife skills, prep work, kitchen safety (laws and best-practices), and basic cookery methods. Restaurants are facing a staffing dilemma right now: they need prep and line cooks, and are willing to offer on-the-job training to the right people, if only they had the basics under their belt. This 4-class course is not designed to compete with or compare to Le Cordon Bleu, rather, to prepare individuals who have an interest in a career in the food industry with a set of skills that will assist them in securing employment in a restaurant setting. This pilot will not cost the participants financially, but it's strictly limited to 3 students and preference during screening will be given to those who have strong work ethics, a desire to better their own circumstances., and who have no addiction issues. A passion for cooking wouldn't hurt either. ;-) We NEED this first run to be successful, and to that end we will guarantee you at least three interviews at the end of the course with valley restaurant managers needing prep and line staff. Please respond via text to set up an appointment for a phone interview. Course begins mid-August.
