Christmas Museum Robbers Steal Items Worth $50,000: Police

MIAMI, FL — Detectives are investigating a Christmas Day break-in at Cubaocho Museum and Performing Arts Center at 1465 S.W. 8th Street, according to a news release from Miami police. Thieves stole $50,000 worth of liquor, sculptures and cigars in the burglary. Two unknown men entered the museum and gathering space through its unlocked front door while it was closed for the holiday. Once inside, they ransacked the restaurant, stole the items and then fled. The owner of Cubaocho reported the robbery to police Dec. 27. Surveillance cameras captured the burglars on video. Miami police shared the footage on Twitter. Detectives need assistance identifying the suspects seen in the video below. On 12/25/20 they burglarized the Cubaocho Museum, 1465 SW 8 St & took goods worth over $50k. He was last seen wearing an Echo t-shirt, a green long-sleeve jacket, dark colored pants, a green Adidas baseball cap and a diamond stud earring in his left earlobe. The second suspect is a male in his mid-20s, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and approximately 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded long-sleeve sweater, tapered jean shorts, white sneakers and a low-fade haircut.
