Join us Sunday, December 11th, at the fresh and vibrant Mimosa UpTango!! A lovely, energizing event you will enjoy from the very start! So, come early! 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm - Nuevo Milonga Come early for the very special Nuevo Milonga: It’s only 1.5 hours, but awesome. DJ Fil Cruz will be at the console. He loves nuevo and will play the very best for us. It will be super fun for all and also an opportunity for learning. At Nuevo Milonga all local teachers, kindly sponsored by the Austin Tango Society, will be sitting on one side facing the floor and available for you to cabeceo them and walk with you to the other floor (behind the curtains) to help you with your tango for the duration of the tanda while all the other dancers keep enjoying dancing. At the end of the tanda the teachers will walk back to their seat ready for the next cabeceo. The cycle will repeat for the duration of the milonga. Please note that at Nuevo Milonga the tandas will be either 3 or 2 songs, depending on the length of the songs, to mimic the duration of a 3 song traditional tanda. And we know how multi-layered tango can be! At Mimosa you are welcome to perform in a group or to partner with your maestro. Talk to your teacher in advance and come show off! The work you do will translate into better tango and more pleasure on the dance floor. So, don’t be shy :) 7:30 PM to 12:00AM - Milonga Grande! DJ John Turci-Escobar!! Let’s dance until midnight!! We are very fortunate to have John in Austin and ultra lucky to have him do his magic for us, at Mimosa UpTango! DJ Prof John Turci-Escobar will make you stay until the final notes of the cumparsita! And you will want to dance more! JOIN US!!!! REFRESHMENTS: Unfortunately, Texas Law does not allow us to serve alcohol. So, please BYOB. If you bring prosecco, you will find plenty of OJ to make mimosas:) And you will get an extra big HUG from me. Help me make the room orange! Two tasty empanadas by Lila Barbona per person are included. More empanadas available for purchase. Healthy and less healthy yummy goodies for all throughout the evening, regular and gluten free.
