MX.MRS, artist alias of Mazzy Mann, is releasing her third album under the MX.MRS umbrella as "Rebecca." Rebecca, inspired by Daphne Du Maurier's novel and subsequent Hitchcock film of the same name, explores tropes of domesticity, queerness and alienation. The album combines folklore of the past and present, Americana, free jazz and ambient stylings. Mazzy walks the line between heartbreak and horror in echoes of mystifying atmosphere for Rebecca, joined by brass ensemble. The live release will take place in the old ship room Sunday August 14th with doors at 7, ending at 11pm. Physical cassette tapes of the Rebecca album will be available to purchase as well as other Rebecca merch. The bill features Rabbit, ambient folk singer-songwriter, and Pink Phase, shoegaze synth noise group.
