Job description Lets Cut A Deal Services LLC Supervisor and/or climber Established Date: July 21st, 2017 Revision Date: April 25, 2019 POSITION SUMMARY: Supervises, directs and works alongside with Tree Pruners, Truck Drivers, Special Operators, Skilled Laborers, Laborers and Contractors, in maintenance, removal, and service. POSITION DUTIES: Instructs personnel in tree climbing techniques to tree pruning and maintenance. Supervises assigned personnel; evaluates work; recommends and implements approved disciplinary and/or corrective action; and, provides training and/or technical assistance as requested or required. Schedules work crews and delivers crew and equipment to job site; evaluates equipment and requests repair or replacement. Answers complaints from the public. Makes decisions concerning appropriate solutions to community tree issues. Inspects tree maintenance and planting work issued to contractor(s) while in progress and upon completion to assure contract compliance. Inspects work daily while in progress and upon completion to ensure the quality of work. Maintains daily work log records. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Extensive knowledge of: Rope climbing and aerial tree maintenance. The safety and precautions of the work. Ability to: Supervise and direct the work of assigned personnel. Rope-climb trees and instruct personnel in safe and efficient tree climbing techniques. Instruct personnel in tree service and removal Inspect work daily while in progress and upon completion to ensure quality of work. Operate chainsaw, chipper and other equipment utilized to prune and maintain trees. Plan, monitor and evaluate the work of self and others. Communicate effectively with the public and management, both orally and in writing, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates, outside agencies and the general public. Work outdoors in all weather.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Working Conditions/Exposed to as required by the job: Constantly extreme cold, extreme heat, temperature changes. Frequently high humidity; heights, wetness, noise, fumes, dust, mechanical hazards. Protective Equipment Used: Constantly legs/feet/toes. Frequently head covering, ear and eye protection, arms/hands/fingers. Lifting: Occasionally 0-80pounds. Rarely 81-120 pounds. Physical Demands – Job Requirements: Frequently walking, hearing-conversation, seeing-near, seeing-far, depth perception, speaking clearly, and communicating properly. Knowledge, willingness, to operate a Pickup, Dump Truck, Bucket truck & wood chipper POSITION DUTIES: Operates heavy equipment (e.g., aerial portion of the bucket truck, chipper truck, chipper, etc.) utilized to prune and remove trees. Operates manual and motorized equipment (e.g., chain saws, power pruner, stump grinder, root pruner, hand tools, etc.) at ground level and at heights up to 60 ft. Uses proper safety equipment; monitors working conditions, and reports problems to the supervisor. Provides feedback to supervisors to enhance operations. Performs other duties as assigned. - Stay SAFE. Helmet, gloves, eye & ear protection, and steel toe boots are required at ALL times. Climbing experience, a plus but not necessary. At least one year within the tree industry or landscaping industry a plus. We will train the right person. A driver’s license is a plus, and a CDL is a plus which means a higher pay rate. We are currently looking for qualified applicants with and without experience in the tree industry. We strongly encourage candidates that have experience in residential trimming, removal and landscaping to apply. We are seeking experienced climbers, arborists or other candidates that have the desire to be outside everyday and or people have a passion for caring for trees. This position will involve pruning and general maintenance of trees and shrubs on commercial and residential properties. Artistic TLC offers the highest wages and the best benefits Wages: Starting wages for a Tree Climber/Groundsman are $18.00 to $30.00 per hour which is based on experience, valid drivers license with clear record, CDL, bucket truck and or aerial lift experience, industry certifications (ISA, EHAP, CTSP, ect) Weekly hours are not capped, overtime is available at time and a half for motivated individuals. Weekend work is limited and usually not necessary unless employee wants more hours and overtime.
