Shop and See, pairs local designers with downtown shops to exhibit their work, drive traffic to the stores, and give people a chance to “See'' and "Shop" from the collection of local businesses and makers. The purpose of the program is to lift up entrepreneurs and help the public connect with retailers and creatives.
For Shop and See, Design Core has recruited designers from the Detroit Design Network and the Month of Design talent pool and work with Bedrock to select 10 retail spaces, with an emphasis on women and people of color, and pair them to create installations and showcase them for 30 days during Detroit’s Month of Design. Each designer/retailer pairing will also host a one-day shopping event or experience on Saturday, September 24th to promote in-store merchandise. The events will be coordinated with each other to drive traffic, increase sales, and attract regional buyers into the city.
