SUMMARY STATEMENT: To assist with all aspects of truck dismantling and parts removal. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 1. Assist with the removal of parts from medium duty trucks/buses for resale. This will require an understanding of shop procedures, physical strength, a strong work ethic and proficiency with tools (air tools, torch, etc). It will also require a willingness to learn proper removal techniques and procedures. 2. Assist with the cleaning and storage of used parts. 3. Assist with the disposal of trucks/buses. This will include loading/unloading, draining fluids, and other related tasks. This may also require operating heavy equipment. 4. Assist with the recycling and scrapping of materials including steel, copper, batteries, aluminum, rubber, and any other related materials. This requires a willingness to learn how to identify and organize materials by type/grade. 5. Assist with the maintenance of heavy vehicles and equipment. This will include medium duty trucks/buses, semi, flatbed, front end loader, fork lifts, skid loader, and other related equipment. 6. Perform other duties, as assigned by the Supervisor. These may include organizing the warehouse, delivering parts, performing general maintenance, shop cleaning, etc. 7. Suggest improved methods and practices for the business operations when experience and common-sense dictates. QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be 18 years of age or older. • DOT physical and drug screening are mandatory. • General knowledge of heavy/medium duty vehicles. • Welding/cutting certification preferred. • Should have own tools.
