As Birchwood Recreation and Shooting Park Facilities Maintenance, your primary responsibility will be to assist with maintaining equipment, electronics, buildings, and grounds for our park. Must enjoy outdoors and be willing to work in all weather conditions. Must be highly competent in how to safely operate hand tools and power tools. Needs to complete assigned tasks efficiently and without direct supervision. Must have valid driver’s license. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Maintenance – Ongoing responsibilities include but are not limited to: o Change light bulbs, ballast, light switches (interior and exterior) o General repair of basic plumbing issues (clogged drains and toilets), broken displays, building fixtures o Ensure all emergency equipment is in proper working condition and replace batteries for fire alarms, smoke detectors, emergency lights, emergency exits, fire extinguishers o Maintain small equipment (mowers, chain saws, pallet jacks, freezers, refrigerators, dishwashers) as needed o Troubleshoots/ maintains/ repairs clay target throwing machines and electronic equipment · Facilities & Grounds o Ensure park appearances and building environments are properly maintained and reflect standards of cleanliness and safety o Pressure wash buildings, sidewalks, windows as needed o Mow yards, cut and remove brush o Plow snow and sand parking lots as needed at all sites · Safety & Security o Practice and enforce workplace safety by eliminating hazards, using engineering controls, and always using Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE). This is not intended to be an all-inclusive list; other duties may be required. Duties/responsibilities are subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS · Effectively handle multiple, concurrent projects with a positive, can-do attitude · Attention to detail and observant to surroundings · Understanding of basic plumbing and machinery maintenance including troubleshooting electronic equipment · Ability and willingness to work with purpose and a strong sense of urgency while striving for excellence · Proven ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS · HS diploma/GED required · Equipment operator experience desired · Must be able to legally posses or purchase a firearm in the State of Alaska WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed. PHYSICAL ABILITIES Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle fixtures throughout the park. Lift at least 50lbs regularly. Will climb ladders, sit, stand, walk, and drive in all types of weather. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with members.
