How do you not lose hope job searching?

Lately, job searching hasn't been going so well. I've been rejected three times, passed on by after interviewing, and my applications not even being considered. Am I doing something wrong? Am I not doing enough to land a spot at the company? I've done research for the company that would interview me, practiced answering interview questions, even called a couple days later to see if my application was looked at. Maybe my resume isn't up to par or the skills don't match the job or I'm not doing enough on my part. I don't know. What could I be doing wrong?
