Description
The Oregon Thoracic Society presents the 61st Annual Chest Disease Conference. The material is presented in a 4-day symposium format with didactic and question-and-answer sessions and multiple opportunities for networking with other clinicians in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. The Category One CME program is designed to cover a broad spectrum of clinical pulmonary and critical care topics geared towards physicians and allied health professionals in pulmonary and critical care medicine, thoracic surgery, allergy, infectious disease, family practice and internal medicine. By participating, attendees will gain a better understanding for the principles of diagnosis and treatment of relevant common and unusual conditions, with a focus on updates and new management strategies. Location & Format- We are delighted to be returning to an in-person format this year in Sunriver, OR. As always, the conference will be structured to allow for high quality education and networking in mornings and evenings while leaving the day free to enjoy the great winter outdoors in Oregon and enjoy snow sports at Mt. Bachelor. Conference favorites such as "El Toro" interesting radiology cases and the "X-Ray Quiz" will return, and as always, we will have a mix of national and local speakers. New Venue- the conference will be held at the Sunriver Homeowners and Aquatics Recreation Center (SHARC) in the beautiful Benham Hall. SHARC is centrally-located, walking distance from Sunriver Village, and easily accessible from multiple lodging options, including via shuttle from the Sunriver Lodge. New Weekend- We have moved the conference off the busy President's Day weekend to the first weekend of February to decrease scheduling challenges for many and to ensure the availability of a wider variety of lodging at a more reliably-affordable rate. Lodging- those traveling with families or groups may be interested in sharing a vacation rental, either through conventional apps or by reaching out to Cascara Vacation Rentals or the Sunriver Lodge. The Sunriver Lodge provides a more hotel-like stay as well as a range of lodging options. A shuttle is available to take people to multiple destinations in Sunriver, including SHARC. Public Health Precautions- We will be following public health guidelines for in-person events. Participants should be fully-vaccinated against COVID19 and will likely be expected to mask while indoors when not eating or drinking. Full Conference Agenda- Full conference agenda will be published Fall of 2022.
