Made possible by the J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Legacy Endowment at Baptist HealthBaptist Health is pleased to present this international, evidence-based training at no charge to the community. Mental Health First Aid empowers community members to identify, understand and respond to risk factors and warning signs of mental health and addiction concerns. Participants learn: a 5-step action plan to help someone developing a mental health problem or someone in crisiswhere to turn for support - professional, peer and self-helptopics covered include depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, addiction disordersAdditionally, the course teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well.
