07 August, 2022

Description

This workshop will focus on commitment and character work, inspired by the Groundlings character-driven style of improvisation. Improvisers will play a series of games designed to cultivate characters on the spot and use those characters in grounded scenework exercises. The workshop will culminate in a set using Hannah’s original format “The Funeral.” You’ll get into your body and out of your head to do some fast-paced and fun character-based improv that is sure to strengthen your improv foundations. Hannah Alden Jeffrey is an improv, stand-up and sketch comedian based in Baltimore, MD. She has studied improv for the last five years and has extensive knowledge of game, character work, writing, coaching and how to make a person laugh. She has played on various Harold and weekend house teams at the Baltimore Improv Group, performed dozens of shows with Highwire Improv and is currently studying sketch and improv with the Groundlings theater in Los Angeles. At 28 years old, Hannah enjoys talking about her hip surgery, eating soft foods and puzzles.
