The Alpha Iota chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated will be holding its 1st Annual run/walk for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The legacies of St. Jude's and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity are intertwined. The designing architect of the first St. Jude's Hospital was none other than Omega Psi Phi’s Brother, Paul R. Williams.
Brother Williams was the first African American to be certified by the Architectural Institute of America West of the Mississippi. In addition to the original St Jude’s Hospital, he designed many homes for celebrities of his day, as well as, the dome at the Los Angeles airport.
Furthermore, St Jude’s mission “That no child based on race, religion, or the family’s ability to pay should be denied treatment.” blends seamlessly with Omega Psi Phi’s Cardinal principle of Uplift.
Our event will be held on September 24th at Lake Meade Park, 201 Holly Lawn Parkway, Suffolk, Virginia, 23434 beginning at 8:00 AM
